Ski Grand Massif

A luxurious catered chalet in the French Alps

The Resort

We have had our own apartment in the village for 5 years, moved to Carroz from the UK a year ago and now have bought a chalet just outside the village and live here full time. We therefore have extensive knowledge of the area and we have found the skiing here wonderful, whether you’re a beginner or an expert who enjoys a challenge.

The village of Les Carroz nestles on a sunny plateau at 1140metres in the Haute Savoie region of France. Although Les Carroz is part of the large Grand Massif ski area and its 265km of pistes, it still maintains its tradional Savoyarde village atmosphere. With its close proximity to Mont Blanc, Les Carroz has its own amazing micro-climate which ensures a better snowfall rate than many other alpine resorts, thus providing an exceptional skiing experience. One of the great advantages of taking a ski holiday in Les Carroz is that the village is only a 50 minute transfer from Geneva Airport, so you can be skiing as little as 90 minutes after landing! Check out our handy guide for travelling to Les Carroz and the Grand Massif.

Paragliding

Over the past couple of years the village has made a large investment in its future as a ski resort with the building of a new 8-seater telecabine to transport you quickly up the mountain, from where you can ski not only in the Les Carroz area but all the other resorts of the Grand Massif (Flaine, Samoens, Morrillon and Sixt)

The village centre itself provides many facilities: Numerous restaurants offering tradional Savoyarde fayre; a few bars where you can mix with the local population (non smoking bars are available); a variety of shops including two supermarkets; one small nightclub and a cinema; ski hire facilities; a creche and a ski club for the younger ones.
